If you’re interested in offering a course to your online audience, I can create one that will truly be worth the time and money your students invest.
Here’s what I can do for you. You choose the format you want, and we’ll customize your course appropriately.
- Course outlines for you and for students
- Video or slide show script or talking points for each class
- Slide show in Power Point, Keynote, Prezi, or the platform you choose
- Potential list of presenters or interviewees
- Session by session detailed course description
- List of forum questions structured by lesson
- Exercises for participants to complete after each lesson
- Video/audio production, if desired.
Here are some questions to ask yourself as you consider creating a course.
What’s the topic of the course you want to create (e.g., “Fundraising for Nonprofits,” “Making Fermented Foods,” “Meditation for Beginners,” “Writing a College Essay, Step by Step”)?
Who is your audience (“not-for-profit organization development directors,” for example, or “busy professionals interested in making and eating healthy food”)?
Do you have an idea of how you want the topic broken down into sub-topics? If so, what are they? (Keep in mind that sub-topics can further be divided. You want your lessons digestible.)
How will the course be delivered (video, slides, audio, downloadable worksheets, a combination)? Why would this method be the best for your audience, and this topic?
Will there be ways for participants to ask questions, get to know each other, discuss the materials (comment board or forum)? Will you provide prompts for these discussions, or will the participants create their own content?
Will you have a moderator who checks in with students periodically, monitors the forum, and answers course questions?
If not, are there other ways participants will feel personally connected to you and the material?
Will there be any accountability for participants (exercises to complete after each lesson, for example)?
Why are you interested in offering a course at this time?
Have you taken any online courses that you’ve found particularly effective? What elements of that course did you appreciate?
These are some of the main considerations, and it helps to talk it through, so If you’re ready to talk more about how this works, let me know!
